What are porcelain veneers?

vaneersWhen your teeth are chipped or stained, porcelain veneers are a great way to improve the aesthetics of your smile.  They have become popular because they are simple, they are versatile, and they last.  A thin shell of porcelain is bonded directly to the front surface of your teeth.  While the placement of veneers requires close attention to cosmetic detail and a great degree of skill, at Advanced Dental Care & Aesthetics we routinely place veneers.  We pride ourselves in designing each set of veneers to the specific characteristics of each patient.  Our goal is to enhance the beauty of your smile.

Porcelain veneers have several advantages:

  • They are basically undetectable to the human eye.
  • They are definitely resistant to stains from cigarettes, tea, or coffee.
  • They resemble a healthy tooth with white enamel.
  • If you experience accidental damage, you can usually replace just the veneer that is damaged.

They are clearly a top choice among restorative options.

Are porcelain veneers durable?

If the custom veneers are properly made, applied, and cared for, you should enjoy the benefits of a beautiful smile for a decade or more!

Drs. Walters and Bath-Walters are committed to crafting your veneers from the highest quality porcelains.  They will bond them to your teeth with the most advanced and superior quality materials to be found.

You can prolong the life of your custom veneers with the following behaviors:

  • Do not use your veneers as a tool for opening and cutting things.
  • If you grind or clench your teeth, purchase a protective guard to wear at night.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening

When patients are asked, “What would you like to improve most about your smile?” the most common response is, “Whiter and brighter teeth.” If you are not happy with your smile, teeth whitening may be a good first step in your journey to a beautiful smile. Our office offers 3 systems to whiten your teeth. Talk to the doctor to find out which is the right one for you!

Opalescence Go

Opalescence Go is a great option if you are looking for an inexpensive but professional strength version of “white-strips” you can purchase over the counter. It features a professional whitening gel in an ultra-fit tray, which comfortably adapts to any patient’s smile. You can see results in as little as 15 minutes per day. With no impressions, models, or lab time required, Opalescence Go is a professional alternative to less-effective over the counter whitening products.

Opalescence Boost

Opalescence Boost is a chemically activated power whitening gel that provides dramatic results after just 60 minutes in the dental chair. It is comparable to ZOOM and Brite Smile, but does not require the hot and uncomfortable light to work. Independent research has shown that the light did not help to get better results but did increase the level of sensitivity. Opalescence Boost is ideal for patients who desire instant whitening gratification. In our practice, we include custom whitening trays with the in-office procedure, so that you can easily and inexpensively maintain your beautiful, bright, new smile!

KOR Deep Bleaching

KOR is a combination at home / in-office whitening system that consistently yields amazing results. If you have been disappointed with other whitening treatments, you won’t be with KOR. Instead, you will be astonished with the brightness of your smile with this very effective treatment. All it takes is two weeks of nighttime bleaching with custom KOR trays, followed by a one hour in-office KOR whitening treatment.

There are three levels of KOR, depending on the type of your discoloration, and the doctor will help you decide which one is best suited for you. If you have been told that whitening will not be effective for you because you have Tetracycline staining or fluorosis, KOR is perfect for you.
